Things have been going really well here in Utah! I have met alot of great people and I'm adjusting well. I had a couple experiences last week that I wanted to share with you.
I transferred over to Supercuts in Orem and LOVING it! The first week when I was at work, my boss asked if I would want to help her out with something. She was going to some beauty schools as a guest speaker and asked if I wanted to come with her and talk to the students about the company and what the job entails. At first my thought was ehhhh, nahhhh. I'd rather just chill at the apartment and be lazy. But of course I gave her my professonal thought which was, sure I'd love to! That would be really cool! So the next day I went with her to the first school. (On a side note, I LOVE my new boss. She is adorable and such a motivated women. Sydney way easy-going but so structured at the same time, which I love) So when we got to the school we went into the classroom and set up all of our goodies.
The students came in and like, just the way they we looking at us when they came in made me instantly so happy. It was in that moment that I could remember being in cosmetology school myself and seeing the guest speakers come in. I thought they were so cool because of how official they were. They seemed to have everything figured out and their career set up so well. What a cool feeling I experienced with being on that side now, standing in front of the students. We talked to them about Supercuts and the things the company has to offer. She also had me talk to them about my journey as a stylist. Going to school in California, working in California, and transfering out to Utah. They had a lot of questions about what some of my favorite things are about being a professional, what some of the things were that scared me after I was done with school, what to do in certain situations with clients, etc.
I had so much fun being up there and motivating the students to reach to the potential they all have. It was a motivating experience for myself and I enjoyed it so much! I feel so accomplished when I look back and see how far I have come in my career and the rewards I have been able to receive. I LOVE my job and I feel so blessed. Being able to come out to Utah has been a great journey for me so far. I am learning new things about myself everyday. Even though I have those moments when I miss my mommy and daddy, and my sisters and brother-in-law... I am happy as can be!

I love how you give your honest initial reaction but agreed to go. Hilarious! I'm so glad you're having a wonderful time!!
