Steps to re-paint a bike

I got this bike when I was in high school and probably used it all but four times. I remembered I have it and had Dad bring it up when he came to visit us a couple weeks ago. It was all rusty and chipped so I decided to re-paint it! I got the spray paint from Jo-Ann's and used my cupons and it was 23$ total for the primer, 2 colors and top coat (matte finish). What a deal!!

Before

(Sorry the before picture is so crappy, I already started taking it apart and realized I forgot to take a picture)

Step 1. Take off wheels and wheel covers.
Step 2. Sand down the bike
Step 3. Cover handles, pedals and seat with plastic bags and tape. (I am able to take my seat completely off, which made it a lot faster and easier to paint)

Step 4. Primer coat
Step 5. Color(s) coat

Step 6. Top coat

(I made the mistake to start in the evening and then it got dark so I had to put up the flood lights to finish lol!)

And taaa-dahhhh!!! Beautiful new beach cruiser!
